Our private network solutions are built around our understanding of the customer's current IT and communications infrastructure, and the changes that are required to achieve the service(s) requested.

We provide compelling solutions, both on commercial and technical levels, for the following reasons:

• A defined Service Level Agreement for the length of the contract that fits the customer's business needs. The customer can be assured of a single point of responsibility and accountability in delivering the requirements.
• Our capability to deliver the solution is outstanding. Our customer support teams are highly trained and experienced in IT hardware and operating systems support, as well as network administration. Our facilities are world class and support many other organisations mission critical systems.
• Migration plans for the solution are well thought through and are supported by extensive experience, process and procedures that provide a seamless transition.
• The solution provides the customer with scalability to easily accommodate future growth in their business. As new locations are added on these can be readily and quickly included within the private network at incremental cost only. The customer's inter-office data traffic is entirely free and unlimited and Internet usage across all of the locations is provided at wholesale rates.

In designing a Private Network, Frontline Hyperlink considers the following requirements:

• The requirement, if it exists, for the customer servers to be located and managed from within the Frontline Hyperlink Data Centre. Therefore, reliable, secure and high speed communication from all sites to the Data Centre is an imperative.
• All customer locations need to be on-line at all times. Therefore, 24x7 monitoring of the sites and services is critical to detecting problems and minimising the restoration window. In addition, high quality redundant connections with automatic failover capability built in may be required in future and this capability needs to be designed in now.
• The Private Network must be highly scalable to provide access services nationally (City, suburban and country areas).

Frontline Hyperlink Private Network Services Support

Frontline Hyperlink Private Network Monitoring:

Frontline Hyperlink provides a 24x7 network monitoring service that constantly polls every end point location to confirm that the line is working correctly where possible.

This monitoring can be setup so that the following events on the the customer's private network will produce alerts that will result in action by Frontline Hyperlink's managed network services technicians as well as SMS and e-mail notifications to the customer's nominated person(s).

• Loss of DSL connectivity at any location
• High Packet Loss on any connection

• Verification that ISDN backup has been initiated (upon loss of DSL) if installed.
• Notification that ISDN backup has been terminated (on restoration of DSL) if installed.

In the event of any of the above alarms at any time of the day or night, Frontline Hyperlink works to identify the problem and immediately restore DSL services that have been disrupted.

We recognise the importantance to the customer of this proactive monitoring and restoration as it significantly reduces restoration times for services, particularly when that disruption occurs outside of business hours. In many cases, Frontline Hyperlink will have identified the problem, rectified the root cause and restored it before anyone at the customer's site(s) becomes aware of the problem.

A further benefit is that Frontline Hyperlink's monitoring system will provide the customer with empirical data in support of the Service Level Assurance parameters. Frontline Hyperlink provides the customer with detailed reporting on the availability of each service at agreed intervals.

Frontline Hyperlink Managed Private Network Services:

Frontline Hyperlink's Managed Private Network Services for the Private Network are comprised of three key elements:

• Measuring and monitoring Internet data usage across all of the end users
  The Frontline Hyperlink Accounting Server measure data usage to, and from, the Internet for each end user within the HPN. This provides the ability to:
  • Monitor traffic usage for each end user; and
  • Potentially charge each user for Internet usage.
• Providing managed firewall services to protect client server from unwanted intrusion
  The Frontline Hyperlink Managed Firewall provides security against any intrusion into the private network from the Internet by blocking unused traffic ports and specific IP address ranges. Frontline Hyperlink actively monitors firewalls for intrusion detection on a 24x7 basis.
