These Internet connections are provided through a series of physically separate connections with full redundancy through independent border routers and switches.
The Hyperlink Data Centre offers telecommunications-grade connectivity and services. These include: - Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) - The entire Data Centre is powered through a 400 KVA UPS that conditions power and provides battery backup even when operating at full load. The UPS is designed to provide 30 minutes of battery backup to the Data Centre at full load. Regular tests and services on the UPS and batteries for full availability are performed.
- Generator Power Backup - The power systems are further reinforced by 2x850 KVA diesel generators that can operate the Data Centre under full load for 48 hours using dedicated diesel reserves within the building. A diesel supply contract that provides for two hour turnaround supply of diesel is also in place.
- Redundant Air Conditioning - The Data Centre cooling is provided by two fully redundant air conditioning systems (N + 1 configuration). These are regularly swapped and serviced to ensure they provide full redundancy for the Data Centre operating at full load.
- Fire monitoring and protection - The entire Data Centre facility is monitored by VESDA Fire Detection throughout the ceiling space, under the floor and within the main room area. In the event of any fire being detected, an FM200 gas discharge system is immediately activated. These are fully maintained to ensure effective operation of the system.
- Physical and electronic security is assured through building security plus a strict access system that monitors and tracks individual access through the use of security cameras, biometric palm readers and interlock doors with anti-passback and anti-tailgate security. Only authorised internal technicians have access to the high security area of the Data Centre and all access is tracked and monitored. Authorised visitors to the Hyperlink Data Centre are escorted by a Hyperlink technician at all times.
The entire Hyperlink Data Centre is monitored and managed by our technical team of specialists on a 24x7 basis. In the event network or system anomalies, the Hyperlink technical and management team is notified automatically and immediately. The team then implements pre-determined restoration procedures.
The monitoring system monitors network connectivity, hardware status and performance, and in those cases where it is required, application performance.
The Hyperlink Managed Firewalls provide security against any intrusion into the private network from the Internet by blocking unused traffic ports and specific IP address ranges. Hyperlink actively monitors firewalls for intrusion detection on a 24x7 basis.
Hyperlink's team of specialist technicians are responsible for monitoring and managing every item of equipment for our clients within the Data Centre.
Hyperlink technicians possess all skills required to correct hardware faults and software problems. Hyperlink will provide notification and work closely with your vendor support contract to ensure the fastest possible recovery. For systems not currently under a vendor maintenance support contract, Hyperlink will provide you with a recommended list of spare parts and can source those parts if they are required.
Hyperlink works with its clients to establish the appropriate level of Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) suitable for the business' needs. As a standard level of DRP for managed services, Hyperlink delivers the following: - The Hyperlink technical team conduct tape backups of our client's servers onto backup tapes, or our SAN according to the client schedule.
- These tapes are stored off-site in a secure location.
- In the event of any requirement the tapes can be retrieved quickly.
- For Virtual dedicated servers, multiple host servers are available for virtual server migration if required.
- Our SAN is backed up to tape daily which is stored offsite.
